Who this covers
This policy covers farragtravels.com, run by Mahmoud Farrag, a private tour guide operating in Cairo, Giza and Alexandria, Egypt. For any question about this policy or your data, contact info@farragtravels.com.
What is collected, and why
When you submit a booking request, we collect:
- Name, email, phone number and, if different, WhatsApp number
- Nationality, preferred language and hotel or pickup address
- Travel dates and group composition (number of adults, children, and children's ages)
- Any accessibility, mobility or dietary notes you choose to volunteer
The booking data above is collected to arrange and deliver the tour you requested. Where you tick the separate, optional marketing box, we also use your email to tell you about future trips; this is never bundled with the booking consent, and you can withdraw it at any time by contacting us.
Accessibility and dietary notes can count as special category data. This field is optional, is used only to plan your trip, and is never passed to the chatbot described below.
How long it is kept
Booking records are kept for 24 months after the trip date, then deleted. You can ask for earlier deletion at any time; see Your rights below.
Who processes it
Data is processed by:
- Google (Firebase): hosting, the database, admin sign-in, abuse protection, and the website chatbot
- Cloudinary: photo hosting and delivery
- A payment provider, only once one is live and only for the payment you choose to make
No one else receives your booking data. It is not sold, and it is not used for advertising.
The website chatbot
If you use the chat assistant on this site, your messages are sent to Google to generate a reply. The assistant answers from published trip, pricing and policy information; it does not have access to other travellers' bookings or messages. A transcript of the conversation is only stored if you explicitly choose to send it to Farrag; otherwise nothing is kept after the session ends. Do not send payment card or passport numbers in the chat.
Cookies and local storage
This site uses a small amount of browser storage to count visits once per session and to protect the site and the chatbot from automated abuse (Google's App Check). No advertising or analytics tracking is used, and nothing beyond what is described here will be added without asking for your consent first.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data held about you, correct it, or have it deleted, at any time, by contacting info@farragtravels.com. Deleting a booking removes both the booking record and its public status-lookup entry.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page.
